Bump 'n Jump At The Secret Spot

One of the best labor day holidays ever. Actually, it was the best ever. Two days of wavesailing in Assateague, and a fun bump n jump sesh at my secret spot on Labor Day.

I woke up this morning and my body is so bruised and battered that I feel like I’m on day three of a Maui trip! Ken stayed with us on the coast the entire weekend, and we both are in agreement, it was undoubtedly the best labor day holiday of all time.

I call this venue My Secret Spot, but today, it belonged to Ken. He was throwing himself over the bars with reckless abandon.

Ken hucking several forwards on his first run.

It was his day and I promptly gave him his props. Good work Kellar!

Me, I didn't toss one, but still had fun blasting back n forth, and working on my transitions.

Ken again with a regulation standard jump

Dave Coyle even came out of the closet to sail. I swear he is the only guy I know that can sail one day a year and absolutely rip.

So he rigged up and we promptly sailed over the horzan. I’ve been wave sailing so much lately, that’s I’d forgotten how much fun it can be to race your buddy and sail as far as the eye can see.

He was on a smaller board with a narrow tail, so yah he was faster.

He is one of the only sailors that I know who can show up once a year, and rip.
Great to see you again Dave, try to come around more often.

All I ask is for a tall ship and star to steer her by, and the wind in my sail

From left to right, Dave Coyle, Ken Kellar (with the loop daddy glow), and the blog author.

Great pic of the 3 amigos! Together again. Great to see you Dave. You know you always have a place to stay if you want to come and spend the weekend.

So is Ken officially over the mental hurdle??

Over the mental hurdle? I'll try to answer that one for you on the water during wave fest. It's too easy to be fearless at the keyboard! I have to want (and get) a bit more altitude cause I think the nose is gouging in hard and yanking me out of the straps.
